buidling boats Since 1849

Where TRadition meets the sea

Apreamare’s story begins in 1849, on the sun-soaked shores of Sorrento, Italy, where Giovanni Aprea built his first Gozzo boats by hand—humble fishing vessels infused with soul and craftsmanship. What began as tradition soon became art. Passed down through generations, the Aprea family transformed these boats from working craft into icons of leisure, style and effortless Mediterranean living.

In the 1980’s Cataldo Aprea, reimagined the Gozzo for modern life—preserving its timeless charm while infusing it with elegance, comfort and performance. With the debut of the Smeraldo the sea became a place not just for journey, but for joy.

Today, Apreamare remains family-owned, guided by the same passion that started it all.

In 2025, Apreamare set sail for a new chapter with the launch of Apreamare California—its official debut in the United States, led by Jack Suski. Jack brings the spirit of Apreamare across the Atlantic, offering American boaters a chance to experience the beauty, tradition and effortless sophistication that defines every Apreamare.

“The only title that I boast of is that of a shipright, because that is the thing that gives me pleasure and makes me proud.”

— Cataldo Aprea
